Take a look at these ‘before and after’ pictures. These are three of Victoria’s Secret’s models. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Look at the massive difference between the top set of pictures and the bottom set. Pretty drastic, right?

Are the ‘after’ pictures more beautiful than the ‘before’ pictures? Of course not. These ladies are beautiful with or without makeup and photoshopping. But these pictures have a lot to say.

How many times have you opened a magazine or a catalog and wished you looked like the models inside? How many times have you, whether you wanted to or not, judged your self-worth on how closely your face, your body, your clothes matches the ones you see on TV or in print?

Pictures like this are a much-needed reminder that no one, not even Victoria’s Secret Angels, truly looks the way that they’re represented. Having uneven skin, messy hair, dark circles, chapped lips, pudge all that stuff is 100% normal. Just because you don’t have the money to airbrush these so-called ‘imperfections’ away does not make you any less amazing! It does not impact your self-worth at all.

Please remember to constantly question what you see in the media. Please remember that none of it is an accurate representation, and most of it is researched and designed to make you feel bad. Why? So you’ll go out and spend money to try to ‘fix’ yourself. It’s all about money. But you don’t need to be fixed! These girls are beautiful either way.

And so are you.

at the end of the day….

….what is a title? a title limits the outcome of situations thrown your way. why place limitations on things out of your control. boyfriend. girlfriend. husband. wife. what do those “titles” really mean? make up to break up. through thick and thin. you love. they leave. you fight. you make up. confusion. titles can complicate the simplest situation. you can be in a relationship with someone and still feel alone. you can be single and feel closer to the person more so then when you’re actually in a relationship with them. complicated. the only thing that changed was the “title” so what makes either situation so different? unexplained questions. answers? laugh now. cry later. cry now. laugh later. love. love doesnt make things easier, it makes people go crazy. crazy enough to believe a “title” makes the “relationship” a real one. love shouldn’t make or break a title. emotions. if you are happier without one, so be it, if not, search within yourself for your own true happiness. if nothing else, smile. because thats what you are left with…at the end of the day….
